Muji Kamppi / January, 2026 / Curated by Matti Pikkujämsä and Jenni Rope

I made these Lagun Mifoon paintings after being inspired by my children’s drawings from when they were between one and eight years old. I wanted to capture some of the magnificent creativity of childhood, which comes without forcing or holding back (you know the Rainer Maria Rilke quote: May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.), and with so much zest. I really enjoyed the process, and I can't wait to go further. Half of the sales went to my children, who are now young adults, with each receiving 25%. Lagun Mifoon combines two names my son gave his characters.

The paintings are made with oil and acrylic on MDF.
