Yliopistolehti / Gå på kaffe: How the Finnish Language Has Influenced Swedish as Spoken in Finland. For example, while Swedes use the term “fika” to mean having coffee, Swedish-speaking Finns often say 'go for a coffee.' In addition to vocabulary, Swedish in Finland has preserved some grammatical features that no longer exist in modern Swedish in Sweden. These linguistic differences can also lead to funny mispronunciations; for instance, Swedes may pronounce the ex-president Halonen with two l’s: Hallonen, which actually means "raspberry" in Swedish.
